The springs don't usually break. Chances are it's related to the case being broken. My best advice is to test it with the case open and the battery taped in place so you can rule out the plastic.

Worst case scenario: You probably broke the buttons and clipped the wire to the speaker, in which case you will need to solder them.
From the sounds of it, your DS is in really bad shape. A replacement case could fix half your problems but might not fix them all.

The guide was cool, but missed several datails on the assembling part!!! Well I did follow all the recomendations. I was VERY patient... "I use to put ships inside glass bottles". Finished changing the shell, and it went aparently well... but My unit doesn't start... Did I fryed my motherboard? What could be wrong? What should I check to see if the DS still alive or .... Can somebody help??? Thanks!!!

Thank you. I didn't go into much detail since the assembly is pretty much the reverse of the disassembly.

What happens when you power it on? White screens? Power Light? Flickering light? No light at all?

Just found out a site in Hong Kong called HitechHK have stolen my guide and rebranded it as their own. So if they're reading, I want to give them a nice big F*ck You.

If anyone got my guide outside of this site, can they let me know so I can take action#?

Post edited by: enterthehatrix, at: 2008/04/27 09:34

The little green ligth goes on for a couple of seconds, then, the bottom screen flashes and then, it turns off.
Thanks

Are you absolutly sure that it's fully charged up?
When you try and charge it does the little charge light come on?

It's not the battery.

The problem is because you haven't inserted the screen ribbon cables correctly. Double check they're inserted right. There's a line on the motherboard, the plastic tab on the ribbon cable will line up with it when it is in properly.

I did not check the battery status. I put the battery of another one. I put the battery to chatge. The orange ligth comes on. I'll check the ribbon cable. I did not push it hard into the slot, so maybe it is not connected properly. Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it. I'll let you know what happen.

Pictures would help. Also if you can get some good close ups of the ribbon cable and its connection to the motherboard, that would be great.

Hey, HP laptop.. Nice.

Shame you don't have a better picture. Have you done the case swap yet?
