I don't have to worry about flooding because I'm on a hill, but the rain is still bad.

It rained a bit earlier, but is quite dry and sunny now.

There's been huge flooding over the last week, even here in London. I dread to think what it must look like where you are.

Surprisingly, not too bad where I live. A bit waterlogged, but no flooding.

We had to leave work early because one road out of work was flooded, and another was flooding.

You guys are lucky I'll trade places with anyone anytime. Over here in the US or at least in california there's barely any rain. Yesterday it rained in the night but only for a few minutes and so far that's the only time it has rained all year. Heck since November of last year it hasnt rained here and even so last year was very dry. I'll probably move to antartica or something in the near future.

Bad luck to anyone who lives down south in oxford. It must be a nightmare..

I hate to chase up on this, but any progress?

Lovely day today, and the first time I've had time to spend with my girlfriend, so I spent the day with her. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice, so I'll get more work done, hopefully, final black coat.

Sorry about this, but my mum really wants to play Dr. Kawashima's brain training all of a sudden. So how's the progress?

LoL. My mom tried to play that and after she got done she said that I never have to play it unless i want too.

Going good, for some reason when I sand to the edge, it goes straight through to the coats underneath (grey).. It must not be thick enough around the edges, but everywhere else is fine and done. A few light coat build ups around the edges should do it. after a light sanding, some curing, I'll be ready for lacquer. I'll try and put another coat on tonight if the weather holds out.

Update: I've just hosed down the pieces to free them of dirt and grease in preparation for hopefully the last, if not one of the very last black coats.





As you can see from the pictures, the edge is silver, which indicates a thin build up of paint in that area, which is quite bad, because it will be the most vulnerable to ware over time. I'll have to place the pieces on to a high platform or some sort, so I can spray the edges more thoroughly.

I'm worried about the amount of black I have left, because I didn't expect to have to apply so many coats, although they weren't that thick, but I must be low.. Just painted it around the edges with nice thick layers. Should be thick enough, if not, I'll spray some more.

I'll leave it out in the sun to cure, bring it in later, and hopefully by weds, it will be tough enough to sand down.

I've finished the lid now, just requires a small bit of sanding, and a whole lot of buffing and polishing, then lacquering, and sanding and buffing again.
