Sorry about the inactivity, and sorry to hear about your job going redundant. And what is that underneath the PS2 in the first pic?

A laptop computer... The screens broken, but it still works. Just needs hooking up to a VGA.

Today I did a bit of shaving, there was a small gash on the bottom piece that I needed to fill, and sanding took to long, so I shaved off the paint and started priming again today. I also did a bit more priming and a bit more spraying, but poor masking means I may have to redo the silver on the top piece. I'm not sure what happened, the edge was really thin on the top piece which should have been finished, but I'll be careful with it all now, fuck the edges.. I'll lacquer it and then sand for nice finish once I'm happy with the thicknesses.

Reprimed and repainted, looking good so far, it's got a nice thickness.

Just a few more coats of black and some sanding, and that should be it.

Another coat, and sanding in a few hours.

I took off the mask, and I noticed the paint lines really suck because of the mask, so I'm going to buy more vinyl which I can use to mask the DS, then respray the silver. Once that's done, I'll polish and lacquer, sand and polish, and finished.

I've masked and redone the silver. Just letting it cure for a few days, then I'll remove the mask and do a bit of light sanding, polishing, and then I have my first piece done.

This morning I removed the mask from the top piece. I'm extremely happy with the outcome, but there's a lot of adhesive stuck to the black section from the mask (oh noes).



To remove this, I'll use my favourite adhesive remover.



Vodka!

I don't drink, I just use vodka for cleaning stuff, it's pretty good at removing adhesive, and doesn't leave any residue like normal adhesive remover.

lol well if you do have a bad they hey the bottle is right there for the drinking

It's evident he wouldn't drink it. No compulsive drinker would use Vodka to get adhesive off of stuff.

The vodka was a present for last Xmas from my girlfriends brother. He knows I don't drink, but they got me alcohol anyway.

Hey, it's the thought that counts, right? I just wanted to know- Is it worth doing the bottom panel if it's black anyway?

The bottom piece isn't being done, the bottom screen is.

I need to get a sanding piece and redo the holes for the buttons, and respray. This bottom piece is becoming more work than it's worth.

Drilled out the holes now.

I've got to respray the silver on the top screen, the very top is pretty much finished now, just a bit of detailing is left.

A big piece of paint chipped off the top piece, primarily because of the silver and lack of primer between. So I've had to strip off the paint and redo it.
