Destroy Major cities from the confort of your couch.
??????????? Over my lifetime I only played one Rampage game. Rampage: World Tour for the N64. The game was fun and I liked playing it with my bro and my friends. Ah the good old days. I haven?t paid much attention to Rampage even since the 64 days and when Rampage: total destruction hit the Gamecube and PS2 I still didn?t pay attention. Not because I didn?t like the game but because I never bother paying attention to it even though I saw it in front of my face on store shelves.

?????????? When I got rampage for the Wii and started playing I was amazed at the animation of the opening scene. It was like The Incredibles style of 3d animation. If you haven?t seen it don?t worry you?re not missing anything. When the game starts you get to pick only a few monsters. You get to unlock more later on as you tore through buildings. ?You can also unlock more moves for your monster as you progress through the city. All you need to do is complete the goals such as collect hamburgers, coins or other things to unlock upgrades that you can use right away.

????????? Using the Wii-mote takes some getting used to. I still haven?t mastered the game in controls yet because I always get confused as what to press. ?The game does use the Wii-mote?s unique features but it is difficult to execute moves that you actually want your monster to do. Every time you want to punch you press A but you need to use combinations if you want to eat people or take down a chopper. To pick up things you have to swing the Wii-mote and then press the A button to either throw it if it?s a car or an uneatable item or if it is eatable well you can press A again and eat it.

????????? Destroying a city could be really fun but it does get boring and repetitive at time. The game goes by city blocks and you can only move on after you destroyed all the buildings in one to move on to the next. Doing this over and over gets boring and you won?t want to finish the game at all. The worst part is that you the game features an auto save system and it auto saves every time you destroy a city and move on to the next. The game is a side stroller with really bad depth perception. You can?t tell what part of the block you?re whether you?re on the street on the sidewalk or in the back yard of buildings. This does make a difference because if you want to eat a cop or destroy a helicopter that is bothering you then you?re going to keep missing every time you swing. As for destroying buildings you can punch them and climb them from the side of the front.

????????? Rampage is just a straight port of the Gamecube Version with a couple of additions. If you played the gamecube version already you?re not missing anything. But you?re really not loosing anything if you buy this game unless you trade in some of your past games for this one. Rampage also includes 2 bonus games: The original Rampage and Rampage World Tour. You can play these games without the nun-chuck attachment. It takes a little getting used to the controls but it is still fun to play these classic games. If you are waiting for World Tour to make it to the VC you might as well stop waiting and just get this game. It?s like 3 games in one with additional features.
Game Play: takes a while to get used to and it?s very repetitive. 3/10 Graphics: Incredibles type animation and sharp clean graphics. 8/10 Sound: Great sound effects, voice over, and rock music that sounds similar to the Ramones in some parts of the game. 9/10 Controls: Not a pick up and play game. Takes practice. 4/10 Life Span: 40 monsters each with different attacks and multiplayer could last you a couple of days. 7/10 Bonus Points: Original rampage and World Tour game. Ah the classics. 5/5 Total Score: 72% = C
