Dragon Quest 9 is making its way onto the Nintendo DS.
With the previous console Dragon Quest appearing the Playstation 2, Square Enix today announced its plans for Dragon Quest 9 will go in a different direction. The game will not be made for the Playstation 3, or even the Nintendo Wii. Instead, SE chooses to put the game on the worlds most popular handheld gaming system, the Nintendo DS.
The full name of the Dragon Quest game is "Dragon Quest 9: Protectors of the Sky".
Yuji Horii, the creator, had this to say.
Yuji Horii:
"The DS version is not a side-story, but a true part of the series."
Development is said to be in its early stages, but patience is a virtue. The game will feature full WiFi support with up to 4 different players. Both of the Nintendo DS's screens will be used with the top screen being the map, and the bottom screen controlling the action.
