as part of a SoC preview, i got to take on the first of them, here we go:
game started in a temple with a girl lying on the alter, got out sword with circle, and it pointed me in a direction across the plains, got on the horse, and rode there. Arrived at odd looking ruins, here i got to toy around with the climbing functions, 80% of the game is climbing stuff, wether its cliffs or giants. it was pretty standerd, press L1 to grab, triangle to jump, navigate and shffle along ledges. etc. at the top, i met the first Colossus. im calling this guy the minortoe colossus, due to the resemblance in shape and movement. He had a huge club that looked to me like a castle tower. Yeah, he was big, about 100feet, and hes one of the smaller ones, some of the big'un are liturally miles big (game size) so after plucking a few arrows and doing minimum damage, i got propted to climb his legs, i noticed a patch of hair on one of his legs, and jumped on, he was swinging his leg, trying to shake me off, but then when he stopped i charged up a huge stab and plunged it into his leg, he instantly fell over. I then jumped onto his hairy ass, and climed to the small of his back. There i found platforms. human made and attached to his back, maybe once apon a time soldiers would ride him into battle and fire arrows from there. who knows, not me, ive only been playing 5 minutes. i clibed up the top of his back, he was getting worried now. but when he stopped thrashing about, i charged up my sword and drove it into the glowing symbol on his head. when i did, There was a HUGE fountain of black blood, he didnt even bleed before when i hit him with arrows. he thrashed about insanely, one third of his health down, my grip bar ran out and i tumbled down his back. However, when i hit the platform, insted of rolling further, i pressed L1 to crouch. and wouldn't you know i stopped rolling and came to a rest on the platform, waited for my grip to charge, then climed again. this process was repeted a few times, i learned that i could do multiple jabs by simply not wait for the charge to maximise, but striking at a half full charge, it save time, and two half charges did more damage than one. and eventually, his health bar was gone. cue cutscene where he falls slowly to the ground, i felt sorry for the poor guy, the game clearly states that they're not evil, just wild animals who only attack if they or there territory is threatened. but as he hit the ground, my time was up, my preview was over. |
