I've been playing PSP Lemmings for a while now. My fingers are sore and my eyes are crossed, but I'll be damned if I'm not going to guide all those dim little bastards to safety. No, don't walk into that water! Stupid lemming!
A lot of PSP games have been disappointing (Death Jr., anyone?), or badly made (The Sims 2 would have been a good game if it hadn't been for the horrific load times). I'm happy to say they got Lemmings right. My only two complaints:
- It's a direct port of the version of the game that was released on the SNES back in the day. (Yeah, I'm old.) The levels are exactly the same, at least so far.
- If they were just going to port the SNES version, why couldn't they keep the cute sounds and music? The lemming voice saying "Let's go!" at the beginning of the level? The sad, yet enthusiastic little "Oh no!" when you nuke the little buggers?
Quibbles aside, though, it is a good game -- one of the few released for the PSP that's actually worth $40 (in the US). |
