Travel the world with some of your favorite Genesis games.
As of today thousands of people are buying games on Xbox Live Arcade and Virtual Console. Those services offer new games and old school games.
Sega has been aboard with both of these services and if you were to buy 30 games from those 2 services you would be spending a lot of money. Each game is about $5 each and if you multiply that by 30 that comes to $150. That’s more than enough to buy your little bro or sister a brand new DS Lite with one game. People don’t really think much about the cost of these games but when you add them up you will see how much you are spending. Luckily for you Sega has decided to re-re-re-re-re-re-re-released all those Classic games from their collection.
Sega Genesis Collection for the PSP features over 28 Sega genesis games for a fraction of what you would pay if you bought those games from the Console Service.

Full game list: Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle Altered Beast Bonanza Bros. Columns Comix Zone Decap Attack starring Chuck D. Head Ecco the Dolphin Ecco II: The Tides of Time Ecco Jr. Kid Chameleon Flicky Gain Ground Golden Axe I Golden Axe II Golden Axe III Phantasy Star II Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millenium Ristar Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master Sonic the Hedgehog Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Super Thunder Blade Sword of Vermilion Vectorman Vectorman 2 Virtua Fighter 2

If I were to review all these games at once it would take me over 30 pages of work and I would probably finish by summer’s end, so instead I’m going to give you a break down on what you can do.

These are all complete games from the Genesis days and it doesn’t require you to know anything. Before a game starts it will tell you what buttons are used in the game. Some of these games are fun and others are boring. I got this game because I wanted to play Sonic and maybe a few others.
For each game you choose you will unlock one movie interview and as you progress through the game you will unlock more interviews and game trailers from upcoming Sega titles. You can also play against a friend in ad-hoc mode. About half of these games are Multiplayer games so if you and your friend have this collection why not battle it out to see who is the best.

The graphics of the games have been cleaned up a bit. If you actually remember how the graphics looked on those crappy TV’s from back in the day you could actually spot a difference. All the sound effects and music still remain the same although thanks to the PSP’s speakers they actually sound inferior when compared to a TV.

With 28+ games Sega Genesis Collection will last for a while, and with Sonic thrown in you can always go back and complete it again and again. I don’t know if I could say that about the other games but passing through them once is more than enough until you decide to bring the game out again. Watching the interviews and trailers are optional but they are there just in case you want to take a peek at what developers have to say and what upcoming Sega games are coming.

Closing Comments:
I’m not much of a PSP fan but there are some games that I do own and love and this could be one of them. Sonic 1 and 2 are worth picking up this game along with other classic titles. Sega has being re-releasing their classic titles since day one of the 4th generation console wars trying to squeeze some juice out of those games. They are also using the Xbox Live Arcade and the Virtual Console service to re-release them all over again. I’ve never purchased any arcade games from any service and I don’t think I will start soon but for people who don’t want to spend any money on those services game companies such as Sega will always compile their games and release them on any console or handheld device.
