Co-Owners of a Hollywood based video game boutique plead guilty to charges of pirating/modding Xbox consoles.
Quote: "Jason Jones, 34, of Los Angeles, a co-owner of ACME Game Store, pleaded guilty in a Los Angeles federal court in Los Angeles before United States District Judge Edward Rafeedie. Jones? partner -- Jonathan Bryant, 44, of Los Angeles -- has signed a plea agreement and is scheduled to plead guilty to a conspiracy count on Monday." Both men admit to modding consoles and installing over 50 games on each before selling them for prices ranging from $225 to $500 USD. A third man is involved in the process, Pei "Patrick" Cai, 32, of Pico Rivera, but has failed to appear in court and is considered a fugitive. The maximum sentence for these charges is 5 years in prison as well as a $250,000 fine (twice the amount made from the sale of the consoles).
