D-Skins short for Disc Skins are made to protect your game, DVD’s and CD’s. All you have to do is snap them on and you’re set. They were made to protect your valuable games and DVD’s from scratching that way they are kept in mint condition until they become obsolete or until you die of old age, which ever comes first. What’s great about these its that you can play whatever you put them on into whatever system you play them on.
Note: These can be used for both Xbox and Xbox 360 games.
Value:
These skins debuted 5 for $5 bucks, round it up to a dollar each. Now if you happen to find them they are about $2.99 or less for 5. I got 2 sets of these for $3.48. They were expensive back then but now they seem to have lost some value probably because no one thought they were useful. Not a bad price to keep your CD’s from getting scratched.
Reliability: They were made to keep your game, DVD’s and CD’s from getting scratched but it can’t protect them forever specially for the Xbox 360 since it does overheat. If you play for many hours the plastic might melt onto the DVD ruining your Xbox 360 and your game. Talk about bad luck. That has not happened to me yet but that doesn’t mean that I cannot happen. I’m sure you all notice that when you take out your DVD from your 360 when playing for certain amount of time it is very hot. They seem to last a while and I have had them for a couple of months now and so far no such thing has happened. So these things are reliable and they can last for as long as your games last keeping them in mint condition.
Appearance:
The skins seem to blend in with whatever you put it in except that there is an orange ring on the side where you snap it. It is crystal clear and if it weren’t for the ring you would not even notice it was there. The casing is something else though. It seems that you can use it as storage for your CD’s, DVD’s and Games. You can fit up to 5 games in it but hey who am I to stop you from putting in 7, 8 or up to 10.
Closing comments:
Overall these skins are worth the price of only $1.79 or up to $2.99. Depending on where you buy some places might have it cheaper. So far I have had no problem with them and I think they do what they are supposed to do. Although they cannot 100% keep your games from getting scratched they do keep them from getting really bad scratches while playing. Although they will not work for your gamecube discs they will definitely work with Wii games.
Value: Depending on where you buy them they are worth the money. 5/5
Reliability: They cannot keep your things Scratch free 100% but it does reduce the #of scratches. 4/5
Appearance: crystal clear and a styling orange outer layer and a metal case to use for storage after. 5/5
