It seems like games based on films are having a bit of a revival of late. Reservoir Dogs, Scarface to name but a couple. Most of these games are never very good. Actually both Reservoir Dogs and Scarface were rubbish.

Now Jaws is considered by me and many other people to be one of the greatest films ever made. Directing and acting make it something of a one off film that no one has ever got right again. So where did it all go wrong for the game.Games made into films and films made into games always seem to fail. Tomb Raider movies were a joke as were the Resident Evil films.
Introduction: The game is strange, a free-roaming game where you play a shark, you go around completing story type missions and any number of side quests. Think Saints Row or GTA but underwater.
First Impressions:
The game graphically is ok. Most companies have forgotten about the original Xbox and moved onto the 360 so many games being released now-a-days feel like games that just weren?t good enough to get a 360 release, and this game is no different.
Storyline:
?In Majesco's Jaws, players assume the role of a Great White shark driven to a predacious frenzy by the sonic emanations of underwater oil drilling equipment. ? You have to defend your underwater territory from all manor of attackers. Whales, sharks, humans and even a giant squid. ?There is also approx 30 side quests of vary difficulty to complete whilst playing the game. These include finding hidden collectables, various races, biting and chewing missions and killing helpless swimmers.
Game Play:
The control scheme is easy to pick up and fairly easy to control once you get the hang of it. You can perform a variety of underwater, surface and air attacks. The only thing that gets annoying after a while is the camera angle making it difficult to see exactly what going on. It changes to the most awkward of views. Graphics:
The graphics are ok for an Xbox game but there are a few annoying glitches. Like if you swim past a coastline you can end up getting stuck on invisible sections of land with no way of escape. This forces a re-load of the game and can loose some of the things you had achieved earlier.

Life Span:
The game is ok for a while but I can?t see myself playing it in a few months. Once I had completed it I probably wouldn?t bother going back and replaying it again. It has various side missions which are ok for a while but can get tedious and annoying.
Features:
- Take control of Jaws the Great White Shark with themes and locations from the original JAWS universe
- More than 10 meticulously detailed, destructible underwater environments, each with unique themes and intense action
- Unleash real-time damage on intelligent enemies, vehicles and structures
- Perform a variety of underwater, surface and air attacks with stunning swimming attacks and abilities
- Dismemberment engine provides 25+ points of disconnection allowing for game characters and objects to be torn apart piece by piece
- Master a variety of kill and destruction missions plus multiple arena based boss battles
- Seamless action-based puzzles vary missions and increase the challenge
- See your victims before they know you?re coming and target lock on enemies from afar with Shark Vision
- Two gameplay modes: Search & Destroy and Frenzy

Conclusion:
Overall the game is ok and fun for a while but just doesn?t cut it as much as other games now-a-days. Maybe its because its on the regional Xbox or because of its faults but it doesn?t feel somehow complete and almost feels rushed and unfinished.
