GTR 2 is one of the few games that deliver what many promise. PC review Inside
GTR 2: FIA GT Racing Game pushes racing simulation to its limits and beyond. Sequel to last year's hit GTR: FIA GT Racing Game, the new DirectX9 graphics engine ensures that the race cars and circuits are portrayed in a more detailed and photorealistic way than ever before, and the sensation of speed experienced with the HP-beasts is even more immersive, thanks to the improved driving model.

When you finish installing the game and start playing it will ask you to configure your control settings. This game is best played with a Force Wheel or a Joy Pad. The system will detect the best settings for best performance but you can change them once your settings are complete. The Game’s Interface are easy to navigate and from there you can choose to either race or take a few practice laps.
GTR 2 is one of the most realistic racing games out there. The handling changes depending on the weather of the game. You also need to stop and refuel your car every now and then in order to keep the race going. It is not only you who have to make frequent stops, the AI also has to make stops to refuel and maintain their cars. The AI is one of the smartest most challenging of what today’s game has to offer. Unlike other racing games where they make other cars faster and you have to try to catch up to them or when you’re 1st place and then all of a sudden they catch up to you and leave you behind, playing against the AI of GTR 2 is just like playing online with other people. Here the cars are not faster, they’re smarter. If you screw up in the game they will take that chance to pass you and leave you behind. Graphics:
The Game features stunning graphics even with the minimum requirements. The lighting effects, Cars, stage tracks, etc are filled with rich details they make Gran Turismo 4 look like and inferior game. The real life weather effects really come to play in this game not only affecting the race but also affecting everything around you. The graphics really come to play when something changes even the dirt smoke looks real. SimBin who was responsible for developing this game really did a good job on this game with its graphics. Sound:
The sound effects are some of the most impressive in the entire game. Having a surround sound for your computer will make everything around you tremble and really put you in the drivers’ seat. Everything from the engine of your car to the screeching of your car can be heard with high quality even if you’re game settings are set to low. The sound engine of the game will really put your sound card to work at its fullest.
The Music is there but it’s really nothing new compared to the other racing games. Although each game features different music its best to turn off the music and put your own sound track on a stereo. So just picture this Amazing sound quality that puts you in all the action with your favorite soundtrack from your iPod. Playing this game will truly be an experience you won’t soon forget. Controls:
Although you can use the keyboard it is best if you have a force wheel or a game pad for the best handling of the car. You can choose your own control settings and customize them to your liking without having to rely on what the computer is offering you. The cars are very responsive and sensitive that it feels like if you’re really driving the car. This can either be a good thing or a bad thing. The reason why I say that is because the controls are so sensitive you can loose control and crash or exit the track. But there is also a setting that lets you customize the sensitivity of your turns and your throttle making things even more user friendly. Life Span:
With 144 cars each offering a different type of racing experience and 34 real world tracks you will be playing this game for a very, very long time. As soon as you pass the entire game by yourself or with the help of a couple of you’re friends you can take this game online and battle against other players from around the world in many different races. Closing comments:
GTR 2 FIA GT Racing Game is one of the few games out there that truly offer what most games promise and don’t deliver. Even with the minimum requirements you can still play the game with amazing graphics. To truly enjoy this game you must buy a force steering wheel of a game pad. If you like playing PC games in your laptop it is best if you go with the joy pad, or if you have a couple of PS2, GC, or Xbox controllers you can buy a USB extension to connect them to you Laptop or Desktop. I can only describe the feel of the game for so long. If you want to experience it you must get this game.
