I don?t know much about chess for winners nor do I ever recall hearing about it ever. And I mean ever. But of course over 7,000 games are produced and made every year and only a hand full of those games make it big. There are other games that don?t even get noticed but still manage to sell a few copies and turns out to be a good game. Others don?t make it at all because of bad game play or it is too difficult to understand what to do or where to go.

I don?t know where Chess for Winners stands. It is the #1 Ranking for chess software yet every time I play it I feel like shooting myself. Maybe because I?m an adult and this type of game is for kids. Or maybe there is so much talking and I?m just not listening. Or maybe because it reminds me of those boring church cartoons they used to give every Sunday. Whatever the reason is I do not know all I know is that this game puts me to sleep.

The game is meant to tech you how to play Chess. You must have patience for this game and that is something many of us don?t have. The game can teach you all about chess like introducing the chess clock, tactics such as diversion and interruption types of check, etc.

Playing chess in this game is just like playing chess in any other software only in 2D. The fundamentals of chess are played in this game and while learning they tell you what you can do and what you can?t do. For people and kids that don?t know how to play chess learning it can be easy with this software if they play it on a day to day basis and pay attention to what they are doing and have patience. Over time they might not get confused as much as I do and know what to do whenever there is a new challenge available.

There is not much in sound effects which is not bad but as much as I hate to say this, the voice over is OK. It seems to go with the style of animation that was used for this game. The sound effects are only available when there is a cut scene happening. But then all goes silence when its time to choose what you want to do next. The sound effects and music is something anyone might not pay attention to but it is important in a game. There is absolute silence whenever you are in a game but if you make an illegal move the game will let you know and explain what you did and why it cant go there.

The graphics are in 2D for the animation and the chess game. The friendly face and cartoonish style might make this game suitable for a younger audience but some how it is played by adults more. Real life players use this game like Garry Kasparov the world?s greatest chess player, who called Fritz his iron friend in his book.

Of course if or when you decide to buy this game you don?t want to use up your first year because you are not ready you can sign in as a guest and check out what?s going on and challenge other people however none of your victories will be saved. Multiplayer in the game means less room for you to think because you?re opponent is right next to you and that is very distracting.

In My Opinion Here goes. OH GOD SOMEBODY KILL ME. No but seriously the game does what it?s suppose to do in teaching you how to play chess. If you need to learn how to learn to play chess you need this game. But first you must learn to have patience if you want to play this game because that is one of the main rules in chess, be patience. Online Multiplayer is the best because you get to challenge other people who are better than you but a victory every now and then is good.

Game Play: Chess fundamentals but boring story line. Online chess is kind of fun. 7/10
