A breakthrough in technology could allow the simple 4 hour battery of your laptop to multiply by 10. Thats right by 10 giving you up to 40 hours of laptop use without having to constantly recharge your battery.

You can play more games on the go, watch movies, finish your homework while on the restroom and lock yourself in your special place to watch those "Special movies" You dont want your mom finding out.(Note the Holloween guy in the closet).

The people over at Standford are working with silicon wires that could well indeed allow for longer battery life.

"It's not a small improvement," Cui said. "It's a revolutionary development." And Cui means to move the development out of the lab as soon as possible. "We are working on scaling up and evaluating the cost of our technology," Cui said. "There are no roadblocks for either of these."

It is now only a matter of time before we are all using this technology and it could come sooner than you think. Cui has stated that the battery itself could be on the market in "Several years".

You can expect people going out and buying these batteries, specially those who travel alot in any means of transportation from cars to trains to airplanes and all over the world.
