Sony VS. Nintendo! Print
Written by Dave Aubrey

Combatants: Sony & Nintendo

Location: Japan.

Results...

(Xbox 360 isn't counted, because the Japanese seems to dislike Microsoft enough to but VERY few 360s.)

Round 1.

Wii VS. PS3.

These are the results for the hardware sales week ending February 24th.

Consoles Sold:

Wii: 331,627 units

PS3: 89,131 units

The Wii has won that round, by almost 4 times as much! Round 1 goes to Nintendo. This win was probably because of the release of the astounding Super Smash Bros. Brawl, a game which probably sold a considerable amount of Wiis by itself.

Round 2.

DS VS. PSP.

These are the results for the hardware sales week ending February 24th.

DS: 50,151 units.

PSP: 53,373 units.

PSP wins that round but just barely... New innovations such as Skype on PSP are probably boosting the consoles sales.

It seems that Sony's handheld is winning the handheld war, yet when it comes to the console war Wii dominates. The battle will be raging for a long time yet, and the victor is still undecided... We shall see who wins eventually, one company will either discontinue it's product or announce a new model, that's normally the sign of giving up.
