No new content for two weeks.
The PlayStation Store is getting an overhaul based on user-feedback.
It's getting "a whole new look and feel" and this is "in response to
feedback from the millions of PSN registrants in the PAL region" in a
survey last year.
The store will be streamlined and faster than the previous. Content will be organized so you can find what you want more efficiently in the sea of DLC goodness. It has also been reported the new PS Store will not use the PS3's internet browser.
The new store is expected to be open for business in mid-April. The store will relaunch with, and require, System Firmware 2.30. In the meantime this will not affect online play, PSN accounts, or user wallets. Content from the back catalogue is still available for download.
"Content will be suspended for two weeks while the improvements are
carried out but users can look forward to a special update in
mid-April," Sony said today.
