It almost makes you want to cry inside.

Gran Turismo for the PSP was announced way back in 04. Back then it was called Gran Turismo Mobile, but eventually it took the name of Gran Turismo 4 and since then eager fans have been waiting for the title to be released.

However, that will not  be happening anytime soon.

"We had been developing the PSP version, but the problem was that the PS3 version took much more time and effort than we had first imagined," revealed Yamauchi.

"So that's been delayed - I don't think we'll be able to make the end of this year for the PSP version, but we are working on it," he said.

He also talked about how the title shouldnt be a stand alone title and should be connected to the world of Gran Turismo. Does this mean you will be able to race against people playing GT5 on the PS3?

"Once we experienced PS3 online and went through all of that, we came to the conclusion that PSP should not be a standalone product - it should be linked in to the world of Gran Turismo, linked with the PlayStation 3," said Yamauchi.

The title has gone through many design changes since and with over 4 years going onto 5 who knows maybe even 6 years of development it seems that Gran Turismo PSP will be released along side the full game of Gran Turismo 5 for the PS3. The most possible date for these titles are probably somewhere between May and Novermber.
