It looks like Guitar Hero will be adding a few new instruments to it's solo performance.
When Guitar Hero III came out I had a tough decision to make. Do I buy Rock Band with it's drums and mics or do I buy GHIII and hope in blind faith that one day they will release their own band set up. Well it looks like I made the right choice when I bought GHIII.
Ok maybe blind faith is the wrong choice of words for an atheist. I did read a year before that the names "Keyboard Hero" and "Drum Hero" were trademarked so I knew Activision had some intention of adding new peripherals. Drums, mics, and possibly keyboards are expected to be joining the GH family. Hopefully they don't give the new game a stupid name like "Band Hero". I think something like Guitar Hero: Battle of the Bands would suite nicely. The new instruments have not been announced to come out with any game yet so it looks like GH: Aerosmith and GH:IV will be guitar only.
Here are a few reasons why I think Guitar Hero will be better than Rock Band. These are just predictions.
1. Activision has so much money. They can support this title like no other. Which means they have a better chance of getting exclusive tracks, which means not as many stupid covers like in Rock Band and more master tracks.
2. Guitar Hero has the name. More bands are willing to sign with GH because they know how popular it is and will see it as a better investment.
3.GH can add instruments that Rock Band can't, like keyboards, and tambourines (kidding).
4. Imagine the battle system from Guitar Hero but against a whole band. You could battle Metallica or Motor Head or you could battle other bands online.
Come on Activision! Justify my investment!
