Playstation 3 now surpasses the Xbox 360 in 2 out of 3 Major Regions.
It has been a tough road for Sony, specially with the huge price cuts that they had to make in order to stay in the market and try to compete with Nintendo and Microsoft.
It has been one tough road but now Sony might be seeing the light at the end of the very and I mean very dark tunnel. Sony has now surpassed the 360 in Europe. This of course means that there are more PS3's in the hands of gamers than there are 360's.
"We have sold more PlayStation 3s throughout Europe than the Xbox 360,
even though they launched 14 months before us," he said. What's
important about this is that at this pace, the PlayStation 3 is well on
its way to overtaking the Xbox 360's global sales, as well.
As of April 2008 Sony has sold over 13 million PS3's world wide and 360 has sold over 19 Million. Sony may be moving fast but it could take a while before they catch up to Microsoft and even surpass them in sales.
Last generation PS2 was the clear winner. This generation it is the Wii which makes me glad that Nintendo is winning however with somewhat mediocre titles and no HD graphics it forced me to look else where. I am not a graphics whore, I just believe if I forked over good money for an HDTV that I am at least going to use it to it's full potential.
