I just heard the rumour, and I must say it's an utterly fantastic idea...
'Noooo, the developers of the recently released WiiWare game Pop is said to be in the process of pitching a Pokemon MMO to Nintendo.
After Pop received relative success as a WiiWare game Noooo has listed
a number of ideas it's pitching to various developers and at least one
of them involves Nintendo.
"We have a concept for a cool Pokemon MMORPG," the development company has posted on its website.
Noooo being a small company as it is probably won't be given the
honor of developing such a game for the Wii however what is more
possible is Nintendo buy their idea out and get people working on it
straight away.
However Nintendo which is known for some surprises probably already
has a team already working on a Pokemon MMO given that such a game
would be met with much financial success.'
Think about it, MMORPGs are all about showing the other people playing that you have mad skillz, and collecting rare items whilst in RPGs you basically just walk into these rarities given certain conditions are met.
The battle tower would finally have a point to it battling OTHER trainers instead of NPCs and earning points that can be spent on Master Balls and other rarities, you could challenge random trainers that you see walking about. It'd be awesome... Especially with some colourful graphics, possibly a brighter version of Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life.
I think the entire idea is absolutly brilliant and as long as it doesn't have a major gimmick like "shadow Pokemon" then I'm sold.
