Sony May be losing money but it does have the advantage of selling 3 consoles at once.

Sony is already losing money on the PS3, yet people are asking for a price drop not realizing that they're getting a great system for less. The PS3 may not be selling Hardware but with the power of 3 consoles under their belt, its enough for them to recoup some of their loses.

The PS3 sold an unimpressive 232,400 Units during the month of september while the PS2 sold 173,000 units. The managed to outsell the PS3 with 238,100 Units sold. Sony is hoping for a gain in sales when the new PSP3000 launches with a better looking screen than the previous 2.

For the month of September The Force Unleashed came in 5th place on the PS3 with 325,000 Units sold. Madden also seems to be doing good on the PS2 with 158,000 Units sold showing that people still play their PS2's and of course with the PS3 no longer backwards compatible  and a great library of games out there the PS2 will always have a spot on your shelf for years to come.

With games like Resistance 2 and Little Big Plannet Sony is hoping to see a spike in hardware as well as software when both these titles launch. However with no exclusives the chances are Sony will still continue to struggle for years to come.
