The Holidays are coming and you may want to start your X-mas shopping early.
We all know the old saying "The early bird catches the worm".
Although I've yet to see an early bird catch the worm (mainly because I sleep
until 12PM on my days off) there is some truth to it. In this case those who
shop early will get the best gifts without having to pay a premium for them on
eBay.
As of now there are many price cuts going ton with several consoles mainly
Xbox 360 which just price cut their Arcade Sku to $200. The Playstation 3 as of
now costs $400 by itself. If you want a game and a PSN download you can fork
over $500 for the console however you need not to worry because something tells
me there will be Plenty of PS3's in stock this X-mas.
The console that everyone has been after since Launch and which shows no
signs of slowing down is the Wii. The Wii despite being out for 2 years and
despite the lack of great games it is still one of the hardest consoles to find
and still manages to sell over 600+k units every month.
There are Wii consoles available in store shelves as we speak and something
tells me that now would be the best time to take time off your busy schedule
and go to your local electronics store (not radioshack) and purchase a Wii if
you know that there will be one on your list. Heck, why not get 2 just in case
they sell out again this holiday season. Your first Wii will actually pay for
itself.
The DS still manages to sell despite the fact that a new DS model has been
announced called the DSi. The DS has had a history of selling out during the
holiday season although I don't predict that for this year it is still better
to purchase one or two depending on how many people you want to give them to
now rather than waiting last minute.
As for the price of $250 for the Wii and $130 for the DS don't worry
Nintendo has no plans of a price cut specially since their consoles are
outselling the competition cold turkey.
There's a great Holiday line up of games coming up such as: Resistance 2,
Midnight Club LA, Gears of War 2, Spiderman Web of Shadows, Rockband 2, CoD
World at War, Need for Speed Undercover, etc. Most of these are AAA highly
anticipated titles. Some, actually most of them you can reserve. Depending on
the store and the availability you will probably have to make several trips to
different stores just to reserve them depending on how many you plan to
give.
Accessories are always available at any time during the holiday season so
you can actually wait on those if you want to be stepped on at the store. The
Holiday season no matter how happy they are always brings the worse in people.
I remember last year many people were trampled and stomped on when the doors
just opened. I of course was on the ground because I couldn't stop
laughing.
Although this doesn't happen as often I'm sure that you don’t not want
to risk it. I know I wouldn't.
Black Friday or Good Friday as some people like to call it is the best time
to get the greatest deals on the market although you will have wake up early in
the morning to get in line. One great way to combat this is to look at the
catalog weeks before and make a list of what you want to purchase. You'd be
surprised how many people actually go with nothing on their hands but cash and
a credit card. It also helps to go to the store a day or 2 before and learn
where everything is that way you already know what you are doing and where to
go if you want to find that certain product.
Remember the Holiday season is upon us and it is best if you get your X-mas
shopping done early and avoid the Holiday Rush. You will probably be at home
Sipping some tea or coffee whichever you prefer on a nice a snowy day while you
are warm and Cozy inside your house while everyone else is freezing their asses
off in the heavy snow or rain.
