Once Microsoft fixes a problem, another one shows up.
The New Xbox 360 Now with only 2 red rings instead of 3 and no extended warranty coverage.
We all know and probably have been victims to the Red Ring of Death. I know I have and I got a refurbished console from Microsoft. The Red Ring of Death has been around since 2005 and ever since the new 65nm chips arrived there have been less failure rates right? Maybe
No longer do people suffer from 3 red rings but now 2 red rings even with the new 65nm chips. What does this mean. It means that if you get these 2 rings it means that it is an overheat issue. Can I be more specific? Actually The Indian Guy who answered couldn't be specific himself stating that we have to send the 360 to repair and since it was not covered by the 3 year extended warranty for the Red Ring of Death it means that we have to pay for it.
It seems that this issue has also been around but hasn't gotten that much attention because its overheating, overheating has nothing to do with the Ring of Death Right?
Microsoft really plays their customers and as much as I love Windows, I just don't trust Microsoft with their consoles which is why I haven't played 360 at all.
Just recently My little brother got the 2 red rings which means it is an over heating issue, which is funny because the Ring of death was caused by an overheating issue. It is the Halo 3 edition 360 which are suppose to have the new or now outdated 65nm chips. So just throwing a heads up out there to everyone. If you purchase a 360 expect it to overheat, expect it to fail and expect Microsoft not to take care of the issue and charge you.
As for those of you who are tech savy if you're 360 is out of warranty you can pay someone 1/3 of the price that you pay microsoft to fix it or try to fix it yourself.
I just think that it is just plain stupid that Microsoft would claim that those 2 rings are an overheating issue when the red ring of death was indeed caused by overheating. I just think that they changed the conde and instead of getting 3 red rings you now get 2 forcing you to pay for a repair that should have been covered to begin with.
So lets hold our glass in the air and make a toast to Microsoft and for every idiot out there purchasing their console a second time because the first one failed.
